Full Data Dump
What is Full Data Dump?
Full data dump exports contain complete snapshots of master data tables. These exports:
- Include all records - Complete table contents regardless of modification date
- Larger file sizes - Contain the entire dataset
- Less frequent - Typically run daily or weekly
- Initial setup - Used for first-time data warehouse population

When to Use Full Data Dump
Recommended for:
- Initial data warehouse setup
- Complete data refresh/reconciliation
- Monthly or quarterly full refreshes
- Data validation and auditing
Not Recommended for:
- Ongoing incremental updates → Use Incremental Data Delta instead
- Real-time dashboards → Use Incremental Data Delta
- Frequent syncs → Use Incremental Data Delta (more efficient)
Migration Recommendation
If you're currently using full data dump for regular updates:
- Initial Load: Use full data dump once to populate your warehouse
- Ongoing Updates: Switch to Incremental Data Delta for daily/hourly updates
- Periodic Refresh: Run full data dump monthly/quarterly for reconciliation
This hybrid approach reduces data transfer by 90%+ while maintaining data accuracy.
