Battery-powered smart camera for cooler inventory
VistaZ Go captures and transmits images from point-of-sale assets as part of CoolR's StoreAware solution. It enables always-on insights and actions, such as automation of sales operation workflows and order recommendations. VistaZ Go is designed for use with the CoolR platform.

Key features
- Long battery operation. Powered by 3× Energizer L91 AA non-rechargeable batteries, with an estimated life of up to 31 months on a vertical cooler and 47 months on a horizontal cooler (see Battery life).
- Cooler monitoring. Temperature data and time-stamped door-open and door-close events, including open duration. Door monitoring uses motion sensing, so no magnets are required.
- Flexible image capture. Fixed-schedule capture, up to nine door-activity time windows, or capture on each door opening during configured periods.
- Flexible connectivity. Global LTE Cat 1 bis cellular with an included SIM, plus Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
- Geo-location and asset tracking. Assisted positioning (AGPS) combines a Wi-Fi network scan with cellular tower data, typically to within 50 m where at least two Wi-Fi access points are visible.
- Gateway for third-party devices. Collects data from authorized and approved BLE devices, such as smart controllers, and transmits it to the cloud.
- Local data storage. Built-in, non-removable flash stores up to three months of telemetry and up to two images.
- Field retrofit. Self-contained unit with no external power cable and peel-and-stick mounting on the inside of cooler glass.
- Consumer-safe design. Materials and enclosure are designed to reduce tampering and consumer risk when handled with reasonable care.
Capture and monitoring
Image capture
- Fixed schedule: for ambient capture, such as shelves, horizontal freezers and refrigerators.
- Door-activity based: up to nine configurable time windows per day. For selected periods, the unit can capture an image on each door opening.
- Configurable options: door-open angle, capture on door open or door close, and field-of-view perspective.
- Image settings: exposure, brightness and resolution can be adjusted. Images are captured in JPEG format. The device has no built-in illumination.
Door monitoring
- Time-stamped door-open and door-close events with open duration.
- Hinged doors are supported. Sliding doors are not currently supported.
Connectivity and security
- Cellular: LTE Cat 1 bis with global band coverage (see Cellular specifications). A 4FF nano-SIM is included. Alternative SIMs are optionally supported and must use the same 4FF nano-SIM form factor.
- Data plan: based on subscription, and generally included in the CoolR subscription.
- Bluetooth Low Energy: BLE 5.4, used for configuration and for the gateway function.
- Platform: VistaZ Go works with the CoolR platform, which is its intended use.
- Message integrity: Messages are validated using HMAC.
- Embedded firmware: The device runs embedded firmware, not a general-purpose operating system, and stores no identifying information.

¹ In freezers, VistaZ Go is installed in the upper part of the cooler, where temperatures are typically around −20°C. Battery life shortens as installation temperature decreases.

Battery life is an estimate measured at approximately 0°C for verticals and −10°C at the install location in the cabinet with good cellular signal quality. Actual battery life depends on installation temperature, cellular signal quality, number of door openings, and the number of images and communications per day. Low-quality cellular signal increases power draw and shortens battery life.

Installation and image quality
VistaZ Go mounts with industrial-strength adhesive on the inside of cooler glass. Installation can take under five minutes when asset data is already loaded in the platform. The lens arrangement supports a variety of refrigerators and freezers, as well as ambient applications such as shelves and displays.
- What's in the box: VistaZ Go unit and additional adhesive tape.
Image clarity can be reduced by bright light directed into the lens, low ambient light, frequent fogging, or products placed too close to the camera, as in some sliding-door and ambient locations. Where fogging is expected, applying an anti-fogging treatment to the lens is recommended. Anti-fogging treatment is not supplied with the device.
Safe handling, service and warranty
- Battery replacement should be performed by authorized personnel.
- The batteries are non-rechargeable. Do not recharge, drop, puncture, crush, short-circuit or incinerate them. Do not mix old and new batteries, and observe correct polarity.
- Do not immerse the unit with the battery compartment open.
- Follow the shipping guidelines for Energizer L91 primary lithium batteries.
- To remove the unit from its adhesive mounting without damaging the device, equipment or environment, contact support@coolrgroup.com for the approved removal instructions.
- Dispose of batteries and the device in line with local battery and electronics disposal regulations.
Serviceability: Apart from battery replacement, the device is not user-serviceable.
Warranty: One-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects.
